Group Financial Controller

We currently have a rare vacancy for a group Financial Controller based at our Cheltenham dealership


Purpose

As a senior proactive member of the Group’s management team you will be required to run an efficient finance operation, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times, motivating and ensuring training of all department staff to perform, developing and improving processes and systems as well as driving the business forward. You will embrace company culture and positively promote the actions and initiatives of The Leadership Team at all times.

Your overall objective is the preparation, analysis and interpretation of the accounts and the underlying records, and the communication thereof with the management of the business.

Process/Admin Management

  • Promote informative and supportive communications with all functions at all times
  • Observe and communicate compliance of all company policies and legislation at all times
  • Monitor compliance across the business and instigate appropriate remedial action where necessary
  • Provide and interpret financial information, from internal and external sources
  • Prepare accounts and reconcile balance sheets in accordance with company policies and deadlines
  • Monitor and control cash flow on a daily basis
  • Participate in driving budgetary control
  • Business modelling and forecasting as required
  • Monitor performance and efficiency, by site, by function and by department
  • Manage, monitor performance and efficiency of Accounts team members
  • Manage all communications with the auditors and facilitate the annual field work and associated meetings
  • Manage all communications with related outside parties, including HMRC
  • Participate in strategic planning, and formulating long-term business plans
  • Research and report on factors influencing business performance
  • Pricing and competitor analysis as required
  • Develop complex finance models as appropriate
  • Assess the financial implications of new or existing ventures as required
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities wherever possible
  • Lead, or work on, projects as necessary
  • Always liaising, guiding, encouraging and supporting other members of the team across the business

  • Promote courteous and effective working relationships with internal departments across the business
  • Use good judgement in what and how to communicate effectively at all times
