Job description
Baylis Accident Repair Centre is a branch of the £100M turnover company Baylis Vauxhall. We operate in 13 locations in Gloucestershire and neighbouring counties, two of which are body shops. We are looking for a fully qualified Panel Technician to join our very busy team located at Kingsditch Trd Est, Cheltenham
You will ideally be qualified to ATA level and be willing to work with quality and efficiency in mind at our busy BSI 10125:2014+A1:2016 and Insurance/Manufacturer approved body shop.
Candidates should ideally hold an ATA/IMI Senior Panel qualification with a minimum of 2 years of experience within the body repair industry. However, individuals who can demonstrate the requisite competencies will also be considered. Applicants must hold a full Driving licence. Experience in Jig work, Miracle Pull repair systems and Plastic repair systems an advantage.
The role includes repair, removal and replacement of both structural and cosmetic body panels and bumpers.

Job Description:
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle body repairs to acceptable and safe standards to achieve total customer satisfaction
- Ensure displaced parts are kept in the correct areas
- Achieve target repair times, where possible, as notified
- Ensure all quality control paperwork is completed correctly to BS 10125 standard
- Report additional damage or faults requiring repair to the correct personnel
- Request extra parts, ensuring the documentation is signed off by an estimator
- Check reserves of workshop consumables and report any shortages to the workshop controller
- Keep up to date with technical changes enhancing personal competence in the job
- Maintain personal and Company tools and equipment to the recommended manufacturer standard
- Maintain work bays and spray booths in a satisfactory, clean and tidy condition on a daily basis
- Comply with any reasonable request to work overtime during busier periods
- Assisting in the training of apprentices/trainees as necessary
- Carry out any other reasonable request of the workshop controller/bodyshop manager

Experience:
- Panel Technician in a Bodyshop: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
