About Baylis Motor Group

Baylis was founded in 1994 when Michael Baylis purchased the Gloucester branch of Vauxhall retailer, Skipper. Since then the business has consistently grown and expanded to become one of the largest motor groups in the west of England with seven locations across the Three Counties.

Following the original purchase of the Gloucester Vauxhall dealership, the business expanded in 1997 with the acquisition of the former Greig's garages in Hereford and Ross on Wye. Three years later, in 2000, the network of branches increased to six when Baylis took over Haines & Strange's three operations in Cheltenham, Cirencester and Stroud.

The summer of 2009 saw the acquisition of the Vauxhall franchise for Worcester, adding to the synergy of Baylis' operations in the Three Counties. The seven locations across the counties of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire ensure that Baylis Vauxhall can offer the highest levels of quality and service to both trade and retail customers throughout the region.

A programme of modernisation and improvement has seen the complete refurbishment of branches in Stroud, Cirencester, Ross and Gloucester. Brand-new purpose built facilities have been constructed in Hereford and Cheltenham, demonstrating a commitment to customer care by providing modern showrooms and service reception areas. There has also been a major investment in new technology behind the scenes to deliver the highest quality for your vehicle.

Baylis is now one of the largest motor groups in the west of England and continues to be run by a local management team, who have been working for the business for many years. The company now offers Vauxhall new car and new van sales as well as both Vauxhall and Chevrolet servicing, parts and accident repair centres and a specialist Saab servicing centre.
