More than one-in-four electric vans sold in the UK so far this year has been a Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, according to the latest new van registration figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The July registration figures reveal that the Vivaro Electric accounts for 26.6% of electric Light Commercial Vehicle (e-LCV) registrations so far in 2023, maintaining its position as the UK’s best-selling e-LCV. In July, 575 Vivaro Electric vans were sold, taking the total to 2,964 year-to-date.

Vauxhall also remains the UK’s best-selling e-LCV manufacturer, accounting for 32.9% of the market year-to-date - meaning nearly one-in-three electric vans sold this year have been a Vauxhall.

Vauxhall is one of few manufacturers in the UK able to offer businesses and fleets a fully electric van across its model line-up. By 2028, Vauxhall will become an electric-only manufacturer, seven years ahead of the UK Government deadline.

James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “It’s a significant achievement that more than a quarter of electric vans sold in the UK this year is a Vivaro Electric, highlighting the model’s versatility and continued popularity with private buyers and businesses of all sizes looking to electrify their fleets.”

The Vivaro Electric - awarded ‘Medium Van of the Year’ at the What Van? Awards 2022 and ‘Best Medium Electric Van’ at the Driving Electric Awards 2022, as well as being crowned ‘International Van of the Year 2021’, offers great flexibility. Available with a 50kWh or a 75kWh battery, it achieves a WLTP range of up to 205 miles from a single charge and comes with a maximum payload of up to 1,226kg.
