BAYLIS ACHIEVE BEST COMPANIES ONE STAR ACCREDITATION FOR 2019

Three Counties motor group Baylis have this year gone one better to be named as a ‘one star’ company to work for by the organisation which administers the Top 100 Companies lists for the Sunday Times. A 1 Star accreditation from best companies is a significant achievement that shows an organisation is taking workplace engagement seriously. Awarded to organisations with a BCI score of at least 659.5, the 1 Star accreditation signifies ‘very good’ levels of workplace engagement.

Best Companies (BC) have been producing and publishing the 'Best Companies to Work For' lists since 2001 to measure and acknowledge excellence in workplace engagement. Each year hundreds of organisations from a wide range of industries use a BC employee survey to measure the engagement of their employees. Only the organisations with the highest level of overall employee engagement qualify for the top 100.

This is the fifth year running that Baylis have have been involved with Best Companies, with results based on questionnaires completed by its staff. Employees opinions are sought on Leadership, My Company, My Manager, Personal Growth, My Team, Well Being, Fair Deal and Giving Something Back. Results are analysed by BC alone, in complete confidence. BC have recognised Baylis’ aim of continuing to build on employee relationships and, by doing so, increasing its customer service levels.

Since 2014, a programme of modernisation and improvement has seen the complete refurbishment of its seven branches in the Three Counties. In early 2016 Baylis acquired the Vauxhall franchise for Evesham, enhancing the company’s presence in Worcestershire. There has also been a major investment in new technology behind the scenes, especially in equipping the workshops, parts operations and accident repair centres.

Today Baylis employs over 360 dedicated staff, many of whom have been with the Vauxhall franchise all their working lives. It also invests heavily in employee development and training, and has an apprenticeship programme recruiting young people for all departments annually. The company is always keen to recruit outstanding individuals who are looking to further their careers in the motor trade.

Baylis, aim to be the retailer of choice for customers and employees and have a policy of ‘giving something back’ to the communities which its business serves. Through company donations and fundraising, Baylis raised over £7,000 in 2018 for charity and local good causes.
