Baylis are proud to be named 'one to watch' by Best Companies (BC) who have been producing and publishing the 'Best Companies to Work For' lists since 2001 to measure and acknowledge excellence in workplace engagement. Each year hundreds of organisations from a wide range of industries use a BC employee survey to measure the engagement of their employees. Only the organisations with the highest level of overall employee engagement qualify for the top 100.
BC have recognised Baylis’ aim of continuing to build on employee relationships and, by doing so, increasing its customer service levels. In ‘Best Workplace Factors’ they noted that all leaders of the business have an open door policy with employees, who all know that they can approach any one of them, about any subject, without fear or favour.
In the last year alone Baylis have further improved their programme of modernisation by completing full refurbishments of their Stroud and Evesham branches. There has also been a major investment in new technology behind the scenes, especially in equipping the workshops, parts operations and accident repair centres.
Today Baylis employs over 300 dedicated staff, many of whom have been with the Vauxhall franchise all their working lives. It also invests heavily in employee development and training, and has an apprenticeship programme recruiting young people for all departments annually. The company is always keen to recruit outstanding individuals who are looking to further their careers in the motor trade.
Baylis, who aim to be the retailer of choice for customers and employees, are also actively involved in supporting local community projects such as providing kits for many local youth football and cricket teams free of charge. Staff continually raise money for different charities and get involved in fundraising days all organised by the Baylis Social Committee.
