We currently have a Technician position at our Evesham dealership.

Job Role

You will work on vehicles in a team of technicians, reporting to an experienced Service Manager and supported by two service advisors. You will help to ensure that our customers receive the best experience and are able to safely drive their vehicles away with peace of mind.

Skills required

· Qualified to diagnose and complete vehicle repairs and servicing, following established procedures and quality control standards

· To demonstrate a desire to repair every customer’s vehicle correctly

· To always follow health and safety legislation and internal procedures

· To work positively with colleagues and help others when required

· Able to work efficiently and unsupervised

· Able to analyse work orders carefully to understand a vehicle’s condition, the accuracy of the diagnosis and what work has been agreed to and to swiftly clarify anything that is unclear

· To understand which parts and tools will be required for a repair or service and to analyse the quality of parts

· Able to plan work to ensure that a Vehicle Health Check (VHC) is recorded swiftly to enable the Service Advisor to schedule additional work if necessary

· Confident use of the computer to accurately record VHC details, including labour hours required

· Able to write clearly and legibly with accuracy when recording repairs identified or conducted, the parts required and the labour involved

· To be able to identify and accurately record warranty repairs

· Clear communication with the Service Advisor or Workshop Controller and the Parts Department when necessary

· When required, is able to communicate clearly with a customer to explain a technical issue

· To safely and securely maintains tools, equipment, and other materials

· Adaptable to performing other reasonable activities from time to time

· Mobility to complete service and repairs

· Full UK driving licence with the ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles

Knowledge required

· The retail motor industry and automotive systems in general

· Retail/wholesale standards

· Relevant local, national, and European regulations and laws pertaining to the automotive industry

· Vehicle legislation, consumer legislation, and trade practices

· New models and recent improvements through technical bulletins, training courses, technical magazines, etc.

· The manufacturer’s new and recent products

· Competitors’ services and repair price structures

· The retail facility’s organisational structure

Working Hours and Salary

Full-time, Permanent

Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.00 and alternate Saturday mornings 08.30 to 12.30
