Our Story

Baylis Motor Group was established in 1994, when Michael Baylis purchased the Gloucester branch of Vauxhall retailer Skipper.
Since then, Baylis has grown to become one of the largest and most trusted motor groups across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and South Wales.

In January 2022, we expanded into South Wales by acquiring the Vauxhall franchise in Merthyr Tydfil from Southern (Merthyr) Ltd, increasing our network.

• Vauxhall – our longest-standing partner and the foundation of the Baylis Group.
• Peugeot – introduced in September 2024, expanding our new-car choice and Motability offering.
• MG – represented at our Gloucester dealership for 5 years, offering an exciting electric and hybrid range.
• Suzuki – launched in 2025 at our new dealership in Staverton, Cheltenham, marking our first partnership with the brand. A second Suzuki dealership will open soon at our Hereford branch.
• Leapmotor – our newest electric brand, now available at Baylis Worcester alongside Vauxhall.
• Kia Aftersales – now available at Staverton, Cheltenham, providing full service, parts, and warranty support for all local Kia owners.
• Mitsubishi – authorised service and repair facility at our Worcester site.
