Gloucestershire-based motor group Baylis has acquired the Vauxhall franchise for Merthyr Tydfil after taking over the former Southern Vauxhall at Pentrebach Road.
The purchase took place at the beginning of January, with all 14 Southern staff being retained by the new owners.
The long-standing and prominent site in Merthyr has sales, service and parts departments with a loyal customer base who enjoy good relations with the Vauxhall marque. There will be no change to the continuity of the business as far as customers are concerned, although many beneficial services will be added.
As part of a much larger, yet independent motor group, customers will have access to a much wider choice of used cars available from stock, and easier access to a greater range of facilities including accident repairs and an increased range of parts and accessories. The site is a fully accredited operator of the Motability scheme and will continue to offer all of the services previously enjoyed with Vauxhall in Merthyr.

Today the Baylis Group employs over 350 dedicated staff in its nine branches. It also has an MG franchise in Gloucester, two stand-alone accident repair centres and an independent used car and auto centre operation at Worcester.
