In order to identify which adaptations you require it may be a good idea for you to have a consultation at an independent Mobility Assessment Centre. These centres are run by occupational therapists and technical specialists who can advise you on the vehicles and adaptations that best suit you. Boot Hoist

A boot hoist lifts and stores your wheelchair or scooter in your car’s boot. Tie-downs are included to help keep it secure during travel. The size and weight of your wheelchair or scooter will determine the type of hoist and space required, so bring it to the dealership to ensure the hoist and vehicle you choose are compatible.

Hand Controls

If using standard pedals for braking or accelerating is difficult, hand controls such as a push/pull device can help. This common adaptation lets you control the car’s speed with your hands by pushing the lever to brake and pulling it to accelerate.

Foot Pedals

Foot pedal adaptations can help if you have difficulty using the standard accelerator or brake. These adaptations adjust the position or function of the pedals to suit your mobility needs, making driving safer and more comfortable. Several types are available depending on your requirements.

Remote Controls
